The elsewhere project takes place during the first semester of senior year at KCAI. Students are encouraged to establish an installation, exhibition, performance, event, or other possibilities where their artwork is displayed outside of the Stern Ceramics Building.
I have worked for the H&R Block Artspace at the Kansas City Art Institute 2015-2021 as the Jesse Howard Fellow, a Project Assistant, and a Gallery Assistant. Working closely with the director and curator, Raechell Smith, I have conducted artist research for upcoming exhibitions, executed interviews, organized archival documentation for the museum’s collection, assisted in exhibition installation, and other related tasks.

Assisting in the preparation and installation of artwork for artists such as Rafael-Lozano Hemmer, Hew Locke, Dyani Whitehawk, Vaughn Spann, Elias Sime, Summer Wheat, Elias Sime, and more. Responsibilities included managing contract art handlers, crate design and fabrication, maintaining the permanent collection, lighting design, production of wall vinyl and didactic labels, and using 3D modeling platforms to assist curators in future exhibition layouts.
